Danny McNamee : Another Victim of British "Justice"

Éagóir: Danny McNamee - Episode: 3 TG4

I know its beginning to sound like I am secretly working for TG4 as their advertising man, yet again I watched something on this Cork based TV channel that was really good. This episode of “Eagoir” I saw last night is about another innocent Irishman , framed for a crime he never committed, without a shred of evidence to back the British accusations who claimed that Danny McNamee was the “mad bomber” behind the Hyde Park and Regent’s Park Bombings that rocked London on July 20th 1982.

One week before his wedding, on August 16th,1986, Danny was arrested at his home in Crossmaglen and taken to England. He was branded as a “master bomber” and sent to HM Prison Whitemoor in England for his alleged role in the Hyde Park Bombings.

The band , Pink Floyd, made reference to these bombings in their song, “The Gunner’s Dream”, on their album “The Final Cut”.

One of the lines goes:

"You can relax, on both sides of the tracks, and maniacs don't blow holes in bandsmen by remote control".
