Presents the INSURGENCE INDEPENDENCE DAY SHOW

On July 4th, 1981, the Irish Republican Prisoners of War issued a statement, spelling out the five demands for the Irish political prisoners at the H-Blocks at the Long Kesh Maze Prison in asking for Special Category Political Status, asking that their sentences be deemed not crimes but political acts.

The five demands these Irish volunteers asked for included:

1. The right not to wear a prison uniform.

2. The right not to do prison labor.

3. The right of free association with other prisoners, and to organize educational and recreational pursuits at their behest.

4. The right to one visit, one letter and one parcel per week.

5. Full restoration of remission lost through their protest.
Radio Rebel Gael will dedicate our efforts and music to those brave heroes and heroines who gave their all for the cause of Irish Freedom, and therefore our INDEPENDENCE SHOW will be a musical tribute to these great men and women as well as all freedom fighters around the world, who dedicated their lives and/or gave their lives for the cause of National Liberation & Social Justice....
